The VEC Imaging Leadership team was established in December, 2018, when the Joint Venture was finalized. Three Senior Managers, one from Ceeteen GmbH and two from Varex Imaging Mark S. Jonaitis and Reinhard Leprich were named as General Managers. Dr. Houman Jafari was named as the CEO of VEC Imaging and in turn named Team Leads over the 5 focus areas: Nano Tube Technology, Nano Tube and Electronic Design, Electronics and Power equipment, Tube Manufacturing and Business Operations.

Houman Jafari serves as Chief Executive Officer & General Manager of VEC Imaging GmbH & Co. KG. Prior to joining VEC Imaging in 2018, Houman served in various management positions at Gamma Advanced Technology LLC., Siemens Healthcare, XinRay Systems, Fraunhofer Institute (IIS) and most recently CEO and General Manager at H&P Advanced Technology GmbH.
Houman received his masters and PhD. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany and masters degree in international business management from Georg Simon Ohm University in Nuremberg, Germany.

Cynthia Wilcox serves as the Lead over Business Operations which encompasses Business Development, HR, Corporate Communications, QM and the Project Management Office. Cynthia joined VEC Imaging in 2019 after a career with IBM in the United States. Cynthia has her degree in Finance and is Project Management certified. Her strengths lie in the area of Program and Project Management, Customer Relations and Communications.
Team Lead R&D NT based X-Ray Tubes, Director of Nano Tube Technology

Bo Gao serves as Director of Nanotube based X-Ray Tube Technology of VEC Imaging GmbH & Co. KG. Prior to joining VEC Imaging in 2018, Bo served in various engineering and management positions at Xintek, Inc., XinNano Materials, Inc., and XinRay Systems Inc.
Bo received his PhD. degrees in Materials Sciences from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mohamed Zaza is the lead CAD Development Engineer for VEC Imaging. In addition to his extensive technical background and many years of professional experience Mohamed successfully drives continuous product improvement and innovation at VEC Imaging. He also has extensive expertise in the use of both 2-D and 3-D systems such as SolidWorks.
Mohamed has his Bachelors of Science and Masters in Mechanical Power Engineering.
Team Lead R&D Electronics Department

Andreas Freibert is Head of the VEC Imaging R&D Electronics Department. Before Andreas joined VEC Imaging GmbH & Co. KG in 2019, he worked in the R&D Department of Siemens Healthineers, the University of Toronto and the Defense Research and Development Canada.
Andreas holds patents in the fields of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Diagnostic Ultrasound and Machine Learning. Andreas graduated as an Electrical Engineer in Medical Technologies from the University of Applied Sciences Schweinfurt, Germany in 2000.
Team Lead Manufacturing
With 15+ years of experience in X-ray source technology development, including R&D in field emission devides and nanostructures, Vance Robinson was named Manufacturing Lead for the VEC Imaging Nanotube based multibeam X-ray tubes. Prior to joining the VEC team, Vance spent 12 years at GE’s Global Research Center and 1.5 years at Varex, in the Advanced Technology Group. Vance has a PhD in Nanoscale Engineering from SUNY, Albany and his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. In addition, Vance is the inventor on 15 patents in X-ray source technology.
